Light Night: Ginny Reed

Themes of the absurd, randomness and repetition within a given framework are recurring in Ginny's work. She is concerned with finding new forms by contrasting different aspects of production including drawing, performance, sculpture, light and its effects.

For Light Night, Ginny presents two works: Spectrum uses domestic tools to build up a mist that falls in front of a beam of projected light to create a rainbow. There is displacement from day to night, distant to near, natural to man-made; and Wormhole uses black powdered charcoal which she will cover circular sections of pavement at varying intervals. These cartoon-like trompe l'oeil holes deceive by their apparent density, creating a light vacuum.
